Downtown girl!

You have to love a cool downtown wall. It’s all the better when you put a cute little girl in front of it!

A little photography get together . . .

I spent the weekend at an urban shooting workshop led by Kansas City’s own Susan Robichaud . . . it was lots of fun to meet several other Michigan photographers (being new in the state and all!). I even learned a few things that I can’t wait to implement in my own way.

Question: What happens when a dozen or so photographers get together with their cameras?

Answer: They take self portraits in shiny glass. Here is the group? Aren’t we a good looking bunch?

And here are a few shots of the amazing models we worked with this weekend:

PS: I will give a complimentary 8×10 print from your first session with Suzanne Upton Photography to the first Grand Blanc resident who e-mails me with a correct guess as to which photographer I am . . . I just got my hair done so you might not guess correctly. (Current clients, friends and neighbors are not eligible. Sorry.)

Photo Jewelry!

I am so delighted to announce a new partnership with Planet Jill! This is a really cool (if I do say so myself!) line of photo jewelry and gifts. I will be offering the entire line of photo goodies . . . starting now. It was like Christmas here on Friday when a big brown truck rolled up with a box of samples. My four year old helped me open gorgeous boxes and satin bags to reveal some fun new mommy bling. He wanted to know if “girls like jewelry.” Yes, we do!

Grand Blanc High School – Class of ’09

We had fun, fun, fun. I can’t wait for our studio session . . . look out seniors!

The making of a portrait . . .

A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to do some portrait sessions at my parent’s farm in Indiana. They have a great location to do outdoor photos . . . lots of flowers, cool fields, an orchard . . . and plenty of places to hide and sneak a picture while the photographer is hard at work. My dad hid in the bushes and watched me set up several shots. Now you can see where my artistry hails from.
